Croatia has a wine history dating back over 2,500 years and is fast becoming one of Europe’s most on-trend wine producing nations with indigenous grape varieties that lead it to the forefront of customers’ minds.
The innovation winemakers of Croatia are changing the way people think about Croatian wine with their terroir driven native varieties, such as Teran, Malvasia and Pošip.
Istria, where the Kozlović family’s vineyards are located, is at the north of the Adriatic Sea which borders Croatia, Slovenia and Italy. The area is a real gourmet hotspot, taking influence from each of its surrounding countries, pairing the local food with the local wine.
From the island of Brać, around 360 miles south of Istria, Jako Vino focuses its winemaking on Dalmatia’s most important grape – Pošip. The first thing you’ll notice on these wines is the unique label designs which has already won design awards across the world, followed by its intensely mineral style.
